Personal Information:

Lydia Logee was born abt. 1786, probably in Glocester, Rhode Island1. She was the daughter of Aaron and Susanna (Herendeen) Logee. On 19 Nov 1805 she was married to Henry Pollock in Glocester, R.I. by Elder William Bowen2. Henry was probably born 14 Oct 1787 in Glocester, R.I.3 His parents were not listed in the record. He and Lydia resided in Burrillville and they had at least on son named Henry4. Henry was a physician by profession5.

On 15 Apr 1818 Aaron Logee, Lydia's father, sold Henry Pollock land with a dwelling house in Burrillville for $3006. It was followed by Henry returning the property to Aaron Logee7. The will of Aaron Logee in 1819 listed his daughter Lydia as wife of Henry Pollock8. On 18 Apr 1820 Henry sold additional land in Burrillville to David Killey and Anna Mathewson for $3009. A deed transferred the property back to him for the same amount of money on 20 Jun 182010.

At some point in the next 10 years Henry and Lydia separated or divorced. Though no divorce records were found, Lydia was married to John Getty on 22 Nov 1830 by the Pastor Daniel Dow of Thompson, Connecticut11. The marriage was recorded in Thompson, Windham Co., Connecticut and listed her as Lydia Logee alias Lydia Pollock. John Getty probably died 27 Jun 1842 aged 62yrs in Oxford, Massachusetts12. Lydia then married Robert Reaney of New York in Oxford on 23 Mar 1844 or 184513.

Lydia died on 3 May 1846. She was buried on Acotes Hill in Chepachet Cemetery, Chepachet, Glocester, Rhode Island14. Henry died many years later on 20 Jul 1869 and was buried with her. The large obelisk marking the grave site had an obvious error for Henry's age at death (listed as in the 69th year of his age). The obelisk also served as the marker for the graves of their son Henry and his family. The inscriptions were as follows: [Side 1] Henry Pollock died Dec 10, 1899 aged 81yrs & 2mos; Lucetta his wife died Aug 14, 1881 aged 66yrs & 14 days; [Side 2] Our Fathers & Mothers, Dr Henry Pollock died July 20, 1869 in the 69th years of his age; Lydia died May 3, 1846 in the 60th year of her age; Reuben Smith died Mar 1, 1869 aged 82yrs 5mos & 11 days; Martha died July 31, 1819 aged 25yrs 2mos; [Side 3] Children of Henry & Lucetta Pollock; Solon died Dec -- 1842 aged 5mos 21 days; Thomas E. died July 17, 1846 aged 11mos 18 days; Caroline M. died Nov 15, 1895 aged 52yrs 8mos 22days; [Side 4 - No Inscriptions].
