Albert CAMPBELL was born abt. 3 Jul 1816 (calc. from gravestone) in Butler County, Ohio. He was the son of Albert and Rebecca (BAKE) CAMPBELL. After moving with his father to Fountain County, Indiana, he established himself as a farmer in the Richland/Cain township area.
There apparently was a serious disagreement in settling his father's estate. On 8 Feb 1847 he filed a partition lawsuit in the court in Fountain County against his brother, 2 sisters, mother and minor heirs of his deceased brother, Bake Campbell1. The rift in the family was not permanent. From at least 1850 until her death Rebecca, his mother, and Albert lived together. Albert purchased part of the original Bake Campbell farm from Bake's son, Albert. Near the end of his life Albert sold almost all of his property to his brother John.
It does not appear that Albert CAMPBELL ever married or had descendants. He died 1 Feb 1885 (Fountain Co. Health record has 4 Feb 1885). No probate record or obituary was found.
