Bake CAMPBELL was born 20 Jan 1810 in Butler Co., Ohio1. He was the son of Albert an Rebecca (BAKE) CAMPBELL. He came to Fountain County, Indiana in the 1820s with his parents. He purchased a farm on 9 Jan 1832 in the NW 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Rg 7 Sec 34 twp 20 in Fountain Co which was just north of what would become Campbell Chapel Cemetery2.

On 3 Apr 1834 he married Catherine MELLINGER in Fountain Co., Ind.3 She was born 7 Oct 1812 in Pennsylvania and was the daughter of Abraham and Barbara/Barbary MELLINGER. Four children were born to this couple, one dying as a small child. On 24 Aug 1843, Bake Campbell died. He was buried on his farm. As part of the probate of his estate, his children were placed under the guardianship of Joseph Glascock. His property was to be divided between his three surviving children4.

Catherine then married William Rufus DANFORTH on 10 Aug 1845 in Fountain Co.5 She had four more children by this marriage. William died 5 Jan 1861 or 1869 (gravestone hard to read and broken) and was buried near her first husband. Catherine did not remarry. She stayed with her daughter Frances Catherine (DANFORTH) NINE until her death on 16 Aug 1902. She was buried by her two husbands.
