John J. Campbell was born 24 Feb 1862. He was the son of James CAMPBELL and Matilda (JUSTICE/JUSTUS) CAMPBELL. On 27 Aug 1884 he married Hattie DICE at Fountain Co., Indiana1. Hattie was born 1 Dec 1866 and was the daughter of Franklin and Malinda (REDDEN) DICE2. She was also the sister of Genevra DICE who married John Wallace CAMPBELL and sister of Boswick DICE.

John and Hattie had five children. About 1897 they moved to Moore's Prairie in Illinois. On 2 Jan 1905 a tragic incident took the life of John J. CAMPBELL while he was visiting the town of Mt.
