John W. 1852-1928 Ginevra D. 1857-1921

John Wallace CAMPBELL was born 8 Sep 1852 in Fountain County, Indiana1. He was the son of John and Malinda (FRAZIER) CAMPBELL. On 21 Jan 1880 he married Ginevra Kittura DICE at Fountain Co, Ind.2. She was born 13 Feb 1857 and was the daughter of Franklin and Melinda (REDDEN) DICE. She was sister to Boswick DICE and Hattie (DICE) CAMPBELL who are also buried at Campbell Chapel Cemetery.

John lived his life in the Campbell Chapel area and was a very successful farmer. Part of his farm was passed down from the original settlement of Albert CAMPBELL (Sr) and his sons when they came to Fountain County in the 1820s. He and his wife were members of the United Brethren Church at the Campbell Chapel3. John CAMPBELL died on 30 Dec 1928 at his home. His wife, Ginevra, had preceded him in death on 22 Oct 1921 at age 64 years 8 months and 9 days4.

  1. Pearl Campbell b. 28 Feb 1881; d. 29 Dec 1957 Fountain Co, Ind; married 1st to Floyd Davis; 2nd to Levi Bever 16 Sep 1931; She was a member of Campbell Chapel Church. She was also member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Hillsboro Methodist Church5. Levi Bever was b. 26 Aug 1877 southwest of Hillsboro6. He was the son of Levi and Elizabeth (Harding) Bever. He was a watchmaker and a graduate of Bradley University School of Watchmakers in Peoria, Ill. He died suddenly at his son's home abt. 24 Aug 1958. Both Levi and Pearl were buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fountain Co., Ind.
  2. Elda Campbell b. 11 Oct 1883 Fountain Co., Ind.; d. 6 Feb 1967 Fountain Co, Ind; married Guy Mellott 28 Feb 1906 at Fountain Co, Ind.
  3. Maud Sabrina Campbell b. 31 Oct 1885 Fountain Co., Ind.; d. 3 Dec 1971 at the home of her daughter, Maxine Bever6; married James S. "Sollie" Cooper 27 Sep 1911 at Fountain Co, Ind. She was a member of the Campbell's Chapel Church and the Hillsboro Christian Church CWF. James "Sollie" Cooper died in 1954. They were buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fountain Co.
