Flora Haxton, 82, Of Mellott Is Dead

MELLOTT - Mrs. Flora Haxton, 82, a resident of the Mellott area all her life died at 10:30 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital.

She was born Jan 3, 1879, near Mellott. Her parents were Mitchell and Ovelia Oyler Hibbs.

In August of 1897, she married Charles Royal of Mellott. he died in 1924. In July of 1929, she married Burt Haxton who died in 1934. She was a member of the New Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Francis Allen of Veedersburg; a brother Hurley Hibbs of Mellott; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Two sons, Moore and Fred, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the New Antioch Christian Church in Mellott. Burial will be in Campbell's Chapel Cemetery near Veedersburg. Friends may call at the residence after noon Wednesday.

CHARLES ROYAL DIES IN CHICAGO

Mellott, May 16 - Charles Moore Royal, 50, died of a heart attack at 7 a.m. (CDT) at a health resort in Chicago.

He was born in Mellott on Sept. 20, 1898, the son of Charles and Flora Hibbs Royal. Mr. Royal married Marguerite Minnick at Mellott on October 8, 1918. He was a member of the New Antioch Christian church. Mr. Royal was a barber for 15 years at Mellott but had recently been employed at a health resort in Chicago.

Surviving are his mother; a daughter, Mrs. June Michaels of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Frances Derrington of Lafayette and one grandson.

Funeral services were held Monday at New Antioch Christian church. Burial will be in Campbell's Chapel cemetery.

Rites at Mellott for Moore Royal

Mellott, May 19 - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Charles Moore Royal at the New Antioch Christian church in Mellott.

The service was in charge of Rev. Guy T. Walters. Music was furnished by Mrs. William Helgers accompanied by Mrs. Lowe Linville.

Pallbearers were Stanley Got(?), Riley Congleton, Lloyd Got(?), Scott Brown, Junior Bantz and Harold Holden.

Flower carriers were Mary Berown, Gloria McAlister, Jean Haas, Claudia and Terry Derrington, Billy Royal and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Delphart.

Burial was made in the Campbell Chapel cemetery.
