Benedict Mellinger married Barbara Binckley of Lancaster Co. on 3 Oct 1793; First Reformed Congregation, Lancaster [F. Edward Wright, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Church Records of the 18th Century, Vol 2, (Westminster, Md., Family Line Pub. 1994) Vol 2 pg 193]

Benedict Mellinger - Intestate record - Year 1802 ( Vol or pg not given) - [Fulton and Mylin, Index to the Will Books and Intestate Records of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania 1729-1850, (Baltimore, Md., Genealogical Publishing Co., 1981) pg 88] -- Administrators were Martin Mellinger and Christian Forrer of Lancaster - Inventory included a note from the Estate of John Binckley dated 17 June 1799.

This Note in the Estate and the Marriage record are consistent with a strong family tie. Therefore these two events are tied to the same individual.

"land in East Hempfield"; this document further idicated it wa the same land that Michael Leitz and wife Nancy sold to Christian Mellinger on 5 Jun 1818 Bk 15 pgs 267 & 276( FHL microfilm # 0021435 Vol 5O pgs 284-287 and # 0862152 Vol 6Z pgs 16/17] It is possible that this was Christian s/o Benedict but more proof needed.
